BLOCK 1949
Block 1949 is the newest Modern Student Living apartment complex in Tempe, Arizona, located just one mile away from Arizona State University and a few minutes from Mesa Community College, and is currently where I live. Block 1949 comes with everything that you need being an Arizona State student. Fully furnished with a 42inch plasma television, washer and dryer, full size bed, refrigerator, ext. Each resident also receives their own restroom with a shower, sink, and toilet. Not to mention the free wireless internet included personal gym, media and business center, and entertainment room. When you’re bored a resident can maybe host a pick up game of sand volleyball or even practice your golf swing on the three hole putting range. What really sold my vote in becoming a Block 1949 resident was the gigantic pool party I attended last year when I was a freshman, and it changed my life. I had never attended a pool party with so many students in my life. Everyone was having a real good time, the dj was spinning all the last hip hop and house music, and the MC on the mic was making sure that everyone’s energy was up to a hundred. On top of all the excitement, they had free burgers and hot dogs incase you got hungry. The pool party was amazing; the funny thing was that no one except maybe ten or fifteen people actually lived in the complex. The pool party was like a house warming party. They used it to lure residents into the building to take a tour, because without taking the tour, Block considered you ineligible to attend the pool party because there was a guest list you had to be on. Besides the pool Block offers, payments each month are affordable too. There is no utilities expense and parking is free, the only thing you pay for is electricity and rent each month. My current rent expense is $742 a month and I have no reason to complain. I moved here already knowing that I was not going to be a loner. Most of the people I met my freshmen year also decided to live in Block 1949, and coincidently I ended up getting a place with three friends I lived in the dorms with last year. Being only one mile away from ASU it’s really easy and fast to get to campus. Block 1949 offers a perfect living environment for students or someone who wants to live there, with friendly neighbors and friends, and a pool with cabanas to sit under the sun, why wouldn’t you live here? Not to mention the pool party happening this weekend (September 32, 2010) which I’m sure is going to be as fun as the first one they had.
