State Bicycles

State bicycles are a fixed and single gear bicycle company based out of Tempe Arizona. Started in late December 2009, three ASU alumni students had the dream to start a bicycle company to accommodate their lifestyles as fixie riders – US term for fixed gear bike riders- and as well earn profit for something they loved doing. A fixed gear bicycle means that the bike has no freewheel, meaning it cannot coast – the pedals are always in motion when the bicycle is moving. Their bicycles bring a lot of attention towards them when you see them cruising down the streets. With their vibrant red, yellow, green, and orange colors and shiny neon yellow, teal or chrome rims, State Bicycles makes it easy to distinguish their models and accessories from amongst those other fixed gear bikes. What State bikes offer you that most high-ed bike manufacturers don’t is an affordable and reliable fixed gear bicycle. At a price of 429$ and 100% free shipping to anywhere in the United States, you can’t go wrong; compared to company like Trek, where their bikes are all $600 and above and. They currently offer eight different color combination models, three different handlebar styles (Bullhorns, riser bars, and drop-down bars) and four sizes (49cm, 52cm, 55cm, and 59cm). Since their first collection release in Late December, called the Magenta and Fascist, their business has been growing. With their latest collection, Marino, Hyphy, and the Samurai, they plan on releasing a new collection every few months to accommodate their loyal customers. I am currently a user of some State Bicycles accessories. I did not purchase one of their bikes, but I did order a pair neon yellow rims, all white tires, and a white seat (show in picture above). Compared to other dealers, I saved a bunch of money ordering from State, because usually I would have paid a substantial amount of money for the colored rims. My total was ranging from about $230 in all, and it was worth every penny. Good thing about State Bikes is that the warehouse is located just a block away from my apartment complex so I was able to pick my order up the next day. Bad thing was, they didn’t do instillation so I took my bike over to Tempe Bicycles, another local bike shop, and had them install my new rims, tires and seat for $15. Overall I am over satisfied with my new parts from State Bicycles, and recommend that if you ever plan on purchasing a fixed gear bike or accessories, that you make your purchase through StateBicycles.com.
